Julianne Moore (born Julie Anne Smith on December 3, 1960 in Fayetteville, North Carolina) is an Emmy Award-winning American actress. She has been nominated for four Academy Awards. She first came to fame playing the Daytime Emmy Award-winning roles of Frannie and Sabrina Hughes on the soap opera As the World Turns, playing the sisters from 1985 to 1988, She was nominated for two Academy Awards in 2003: for Best Actress (Far From Heaven) and for Best Supporting Actress (The Hours). She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a SAG award for her performances in Far From Heaven in 2003.
