Jules Asner (born Julie Ann White on 14
February 1968 in Tempe, Arizona, USA) is a television
personality and former fashion model. She is also the
wife of movie director Steven Soderbergh.
At age 11, Jules stood at 5'10", and was discovered
at a modeling convention in Scottsdale, Arizona at age
16. She left home a week later to sign with Elite Model
Management and was soon off to modeling jobs in Europe
and Asia. Elite is known around the world to recruit
only quality models and Jules was no exception. After
spending time modeling all over the world, Jules decided
to try something different. She relocated to Los Angeles
and enrolled at UCLA, and graduated with a degree in
political science and journalism.
Jules began reporting entertainment news in 1994,
contributing to such national and international programs
as Good Morning England, Reuters Television, The
Entertainment Show and Extra. More recently, she has
been co-anchor with Steve Kmetko on E! News Daily, as
well as hosting E!'s Wild On show. Jules has taken
viewers to the South Seas, Las Vegas, Mardi Gras and has
visited 25 different countries in the span of a year and
a half on the show. She is now doing more reporting for
E!, hosting movie premieres, covering film festivals,
and doing celebrity press junket interviews.
She is also the host of E!'s interview show, Revealed.
As a writer, she also occasionally contributed to Buzz
magazine, reporting on different aspects of the world of
entertainment. Jules is a tall sexy beautiful brunette
vixen who has had very provocative photographs taken of
her in very little clothing. She has become a staple at
Hollywood premieres, publicity junkets and film
festivals, covering the action and interviewing the
stars. She now makes her home in Hollywood Hills,
California.
She was a long-time E! Entertainment Television channel
personality, hosting Wild On!, Revealed with Jules Asner
and E! News Live. Before joining E!, Jules was an
entertainment reporter for Good Morning England, HCTV,
Reuters Television, The Entertainment Show and Extra.
Asner began her career as an Elite model and was
roommates with Cindy Crawford. She has a degree in
politics and journalism from UCLA.
Jules Asner most recently served as host of
"Revealed With Jules Asner," a one-hour
celebrity profile series for E! Entertainment
Television. Previously, she was co-anchor of "E!
News Live" and was the first host of the top-rated
"Wild On?" travel series for E!, taking
viewers to Thailand, Greece, Italy, Brazil, Argentina
and 20 other countries.
Additionally, she recently hosted
several of A&E's popular live concert series
specials, "Live By Request." She began her
entertainment reporting career in 1994, contributing
stories to national and international outlets such as
"Extra, and "Good Morning Britain." She
got her start in entertainment at age 15, when she was
discovered in the Elite Model "Look of the
Year" competition, after which she modeled in New
York and Europe. She later attended Arizona State
University and the University of California, Los
Angeles, where she studied political science. She lives
in New York City with her husband, filmmaker Steven
Soderbergh.
After a heated bidding war, The Weinstein
Company/Miramax Books ended up winning the publishing
rights to her first novel, "Whacked." The book
is due to be released in the the fourth quarter of '07.
Asner is repped by noted literary agent Elizabeth
Sheinkman, who also repped Plum Sykes' "Bergdorf
Blondes" to Miramax/Weinstein Co. She married
director Steven Soderbergh on May 10th, 2003. |
