Jordana Brewster (born April 26, 1980)
is an American actress, best known for her roles in The
Fast and the Furious, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The
Beginning, The Faculty, D.E.B.S., and Annapolis.
Early life: Jordana Brewster was born in Panama
City, Panama to Alden Brewster, an American investment
banker, and Maria Joćo Leal de Sousa, a former Sports
Illustrated swimsuit model from Brazil. She left Panama
when she was two months old, relocating to London where
she would spend six years before moving to her mother's
native Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
She left Brazil at the age of ten, settling in
Manhattan, New York, where she would live for the next
fifteen years. Brewster studied at the Convent of the
Sacred Heart in New York and graduated from the
Professional Children's School in New York. She then
enrolled at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut,
graduating in 2003. Her paternal grandfather Kingman
Brewster, Jr. was president of Yale from 1963-1977.
Career: Brewster made her debut on the daytime
soap opera, All My Children, in a one-time appearance
playing Anita Santos. Brewster returned to daytime on As
the World Turns as Nikki Munson from 1995 to 1998. Her
role as Mia Toretto in The Fast and the Furious has been
her most popular to date.
She had a small role as an Actress in
Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! but her scenes were
deleted. She played criminal mastermind Lucy Diamond in
Angela Robinson's 2005 film, D.E.B.S..
Her most current role is "Chrissie" in The
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, which was
released on October 6, 2006. She was recently cast in
the upcoming show known as Mr and Mrs. Smith. The show
will pickup 6 months after the events of the movie Mr.
and Mrs. Smith with her playing the role formerly donned
by Angelina Jolie.
Personal life: She dated Mark Wahlberg from 2000
to June 2001 and has also recently dated Derek Jeter in
2002, Jay Penske, and Mark McGrath from 2003 to 2004. In
2002 Stuff magazine named her the 96th hottest woman in
their "102 Sexiest Women in the World".
In 2005 Maxim magazine named her the
54th sexiest woman in the world in their annual Hot 100.
In 2006 Maxim ranked her at #59 on their Hot 100. She
was also placed 8th on afterellen.com's 100 hottest
women list.
She has a cat named Delilah, after her movie character
in The Faculty. She has a Labrador retriever named Ella
who turned one year old on December 3, 2006.
After she dated him for a year, she became engaged to
Andrew Form (who worked as a producer on The Texas
Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) on November 4, 2006,
and told Us Weekly, "It wasn't a total surprise,
but it was very spontaneous. It's going to be a pretty
small destination wedding -- next November.",
Married to Andrew Form in a private ceremony in the
Bahamas May 6, 2007.
Family: Brewster's Grandfather is Kingman
Brewster, Jr., former President of Yale University. Her
mother is Maria Joćo, the former Sports Illustrated
swimsuit model from Brazil. Her father is an investment
banker. She has a younger sister named Isabella, who is
24. Her grandfathers were ambassadors to Great Britain. |
