Kathryn Bridget
Moynahan (born September 21, 1972 in Binghamton, New
York) is an American model and actress of Irish descent,
best known for her roles in films such as Coyote Ugly;
I, Robot and Lord of War.
Biography: Moynahan grew up in Longmeadow,
Massachusetts, along with her two brothers, Andrew and
Seán. Her father is a scientist who is currently an
administrator at the University of Massachusetts at
Amherst. Her mother is a former school teacher and can
be seen with her daughter in a 2005 Comcast cable
company television advertisement for the Boston area.
She studied acting in New York City. She recently
appeared in such feature films as The Sum of All Fears,
The Recruit, Lord of War, and I, Robot. She also made
guest appearances in the television series Sex and the
City. She currently stars in the television series Six
Degrees.
Known as "Kat" to her friends, Moynahan
attended Longmeadow High School and graduated in 1989.
In high school, she was active in school athletics,
participating in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse.
As a model she was on many magazine covers, including
Elle, Vogue, Self, Fitness, New Woman and Glamour.
However, she didn't begin to pursue acting until after
starting her modelling career. In May 2006, Maxim
magazine named her #96 on their annual Hot 100 List.
Setting the silver screen ablaze with her memorable
moves in Coyote Ugly and getting small-screen laughs
with her role as Mr. Big's fiancיe (aka "the
stick with no soul") in HBO's massively popular Sex
and the City, former child athlete turned Glamour
cover-girl Bridget Moynahan forged a successful
transition from catwalk to screen in the early years of
the new millennium.
Born in Binghamton, NY, and raised in Longmeadow, MA,
the soccer-playing youngster soon favored preserving her
looks as she began gracing the pages of some of the
most-respected fashion magazines in the industry.
It wasn't long before she began to seek more of her
career, and after making an impression on Sex and the
City, Moynahan appeared in small roles in such features
as In the Weeds and Trifling With Fate (both 2000).
Dancing to Prince songs was as just about as demanding
as her audition for Coyote Ugly got, and the energetic
actress was soon kicking her heels on the bar-top in the
free-spirited film.
Later appearing in such films as Whipped (2000),
Serendipity (2001), and The Sum of All Fears (2002),
Moynahan took a choice roll opposite Al Pacino and Colin
Farrell in the espionage thriller The Recruit in 2002.
Personal life: Moynahan dated New England
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady from 2004 until
Thanksgiving 2006. The couple, who split in December
2006, are expecting a child in late summer of 2007.
