Amy Lynn Lee is an American singer and songwriter. She is a founding member and lead singer of the Grammy Award winning rock band Evanescence. She mostly sings alto but can also sing soprano most preferably categorized as a Mezzo-Soprano. She has mentioned Björk, Tori Amos, Soundgarden, Danny Elfman, Nine Inch Nails and Portishead as some of her favorite and most influential artists. Amy Lee is a vocalist and songwriter with the rock band Evanescence, whose debut album, Fallen (2003), was nominated for five Grammys in 2003. The band won two Grammys that year, for Best New Artist and for Best Hard Rock Performance, She is known by many people worldwide not only because of her music but because of her taste in clothing and various features in magazines. The goth inspired Arkansas rock band Evanescence, with its Linkin Park meets Tori Amos sound backed by chugging guitars, easily made it to the top of the charts in 2003 with its Wind-Up Entertainment debut album, Fallen ..
